Wood When I was young my family and I tore down a WoodWhen I was young my family and I tore down a house to build our “farm” outside of Laggan.the atmosphere of the Australian bush at our doorstep fuelled the imagination of my sister and I. The farm, “Bellamy’s flat”, the layers of paint stripped back, the wood grain flowed throughout.Living now in kings cross, having spent the year prior travelling, running away from what I once called home, as my sister, the subject of the work does, running toward something everchanging I recently returned to the place my family now lives in Mittagong.reminiscing on the bush that made me, burning my past as the bushfires do to let the new growth spring fourth. My work “Bronnadh” meaning bestow is the gallic link to my sister’s name Bronte. My great grandmother moved to New Zealand from Scotland speaking only gallic, moving to a place with fuck all. Her story is carried through in my name.“Bronnadh” is a synthesis between the old and the new. The wood I recycled from our current house, wood we would’ve burnt.I wrote this to explain the behind the scenes a bit more but it’s all up to you really tell your own story live your own goddamn life happy to see you here.

All of these works here, all the works i show each All of these works here, all the works i show each were a break through in some way to me.In a strange dream that seemed to predict the future (i tell no lie believe what you wish) In flipping off a rock on new heightsIn new techniqueAnd in revisiting a place i had forgotten for so long, a place that my grandparents took me when i was a child i was brought to tears just to paint to see kids still playing and to hear people playing music.Painting a memoryBeing at peace and creating carelesslyPainting an artist i admire, on scheile When you wake tomorrow i wonder as i do for myself as I do for you what your first words will be
It has been a while since I have posted anything. It has been a while since I have posted anything.Taking a break from the fast form bullshit machine has been so fulfilling, I do really recommend it if you want to live for yourself a little more 😉It has been so long, I really have so much to say. These are some works from my exhibition You & i That took place earlier this year.I worked so hard for this exhibition, i stand by the idea of giving everything to gain anything. I worked myself into a rut, trying all i could to escape to express something! A break to the south coast in turross heads set me free, when i returned to my studio i could paint like a madman, the water, the sun, nature, my friends, freedom, adventure. From here is where my year really kicked off.I have so many more stories i wish to share from this moment till the time i write this. Though instagram isn’t necessarily the place i want my works to be seen, i realise i have so much i wish to share, see you soon.
